You should get this from your supplier as product specs are different.

Fastest charging is by using any light source with UV rays in them and that is Sunlight or Black Lights. Charge time is as fast as 15 seconds. Glow time from 10 minutes to 6 hours (depending on the product grade).

Difference is in the materials used and manufacturing process. ZGS is able to withstand slightly higher temperatures for longer periods without burning.

You can find more info there based on the type of glazing you intend to do.

What is Glow in the Dark?

Glow in the Dark is the most efficient emergency lighting system because it gets it power from surrounding light and is ever ready for any sudden blackout.

What are pebbles?

A pebble is a clast of rock with a particle size of 2 to 64 millimetres based on the Krumbein phi scale of sedimentology. Pebbles are generally considered large.

Where are pebbles used?

Beach and river pebbles are also used to create water-smart gardens in areas where water is scarce. Small pebbles are also used to create living spaces and gardens on the rooftops of buildings. Indoors, pebbles can be used as bookends and paperweights.

Now we have Glow in the Dark Pebbles Stones and Rocks.

BlackLights are lights that emit UV rays. There are different types of UV rays. Some are harmful, some are not, and some are necessary for our existence.

Longwave - UVA (315 to 400 nm), also known as black light, which causes tanning
Mediumwave - UVB (280 to 315 nm), which causes damage in the form of sunburn
Shortwave - UVC (100 to 280 nm), which is filtered out by the atmosphere and never reaches us.

Glow in the Dark Products gets charged faster with black lights as compared to normal room lights. UV Light Reactive products, Must have a Blacklight in order to work.

Good to read what Confusious on Wikipedia says about the topic first, before Watching this video on YouTube.

With improvements made in the Glow in the Dark manufacturing process, we are seeing Glow products which can glow brighter and for longer periods. Typical glowing time is now between 3 to 10 hours. This makes it practical for use as signages especially in areas often hit with power failures.

Glow in the dark technology is best used as an Emergency Lighting system which requires no maintenance or external power source. The only thing needed in order for Glow in the dark products to work well is a good source of surrounding light. It charges when there is surrounding light (even room light) and glows when the surrounding light goes off (whether switched off or due to a power failure).

Benefits of using Glow Products vs Powered Emergency Lighting are:
  • No Maintenance
  • No Wiring or any external power required
  • Guaranteed to work in a power failure

Some regulators require Lighted signages in critical places. When placed in areas leading to the main Exit, Glow in the dark Signages can still be used to guide people safely. Best to install Glow signages in areas where there is always a good source of light. This is to ensure it stays fully charged until a power failure occurs.

MIT engineers have been able to induce plants to give off a dim light for nearly four hours. And they believe that, with further optimization, such plants will one day be bright enough to illuminate an entire workspace.

A test stretch of the Rail Corridor, which includes a section that glows in the dark, has been completed.

The 400m-long "track", behind Bukit Panjang MRT station off Choa Chu Kang Road, has been open to the public since July 12, Chinese daily Lianhe Zaobao reported yesterday.

Four different surface materials each take up a 100m stretch: grass and gravel, fine gravel, earth-coloured porous concrete, and natural non-toxic light green strontium aluminate minerals, which absorb ultraviolet light during the day and cause the track to emit a soft glow at night. More info at

Product used for this is Glow in the Dark Gravel, a product which is suitable for road making or lining pathways as in this case.

Inks are more diverse as we are dealing with printing and writing inks. We have glow in the dark inks for printing but not for writing. Reason is because Glow in the Dark material is particle based and can only be mixed into solutions with specific density.

We have UV Light Reactive Inks for stamp pad and writing instruments.

What is the difference between Glow in the Dark Paint and Ink?

The main difference is in the application these products are meant for.

Glow in the Dark Paint can be divided into 2 types of paint.
1) Glow in the dark paint for Brush or Roller Painting
2) Glow in the Dark paint for Spray Painting
